It remains the single busiest day of the year in Amsterdam — canal-side streets close to traffic, hundreds of thousands of visitors fill the city, and normal taxi pickup points become unreliable for the entire day. The next King’s Day falls on Tuesday 27 April 2027. WorldPride Amsterdam — Completed for 2026
WorldPride Amsterdam ran from 25 July to 8 August 2026 and has now finished. Over its two weeks it brought sustained elevated demand and canal-ring road closures, peaking around the Canal Parade weekend. WorldPride is a rotating global event awarded to a different host city roughly every two years, so it will not return to Amsterdam on a fixed schedule the way an annual event does — we will update this page if a future edition is confirmed here.
Dam tot Damloop — 19–20 September 2026
A 16km running race that goes directly from Amsterdam to Zaandam — which makes it uniquely relevant to a service covering both cities. The Sunday race closes the IJtunnel, the main road link between central Amsterdam and Amsterdam-Noord, for most of the day.
